2012 The Longest Day – 15h 36m 54s over in a flash

From sunrise… to sunset. 15 hours. 36 minutes. And 54 seconds. I didn’t know what to expect when we signed up to form a team to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day event. With only a few weeks to prepare, Cliff and I scrambled, called some friends, found a launch site, designed banners, printed some t-shirts, and coordinated 11 shifts and 2 routes for bikers, runners, and walkers (and scooters!). Impact!

We were asked recently about our biking project history and I started to list out the number of bikes we’ve collected and distributed the past four years. As I was doing that, I started to consolidate a few more stats and by the time I was done, the numbers surprised me.
